88th Exeter Trial – 6th/7th Jan 2017
Once again the Aldermaston Nomads will be running the Popham airfield start of the Exeter Trial on Friday 6th Jan 2017.
We will be the 2nd start. First bike away is scheduled for 19:50. There are 42 bike entries ( including 3 Honda C90’s!!) followed by 26 cars. Last car start is at 22.33. If you are intending to help, please be there by 18:50.
This Long Distance Reliability Trial will start in the evening of Friday 6th January 2017 riding 240 miles through the night into a winter morning, to tackle 15 observed sections and tests and finish on Saturday the 7th . There are classes for Pre 1970 Solos, Solos less than 450cc, Solos over 450cc, Sidecars and cars. There are three starting points for these classes: Cirencester, Popham Airfield (near Basingstoke) and Sourton Cross (near Okehampton). Competitors converge on the Haynes Museum in Somerset and then follow a common route to the Finish at Torquay. As per previous years, this years trial is oversubscribed. If you are interested in competing its best to plan well ahead and look into the regulations in some detail!
