Nomads Christmas Trial – Pickling Yards – 2nd Jan 17

Happy New Year from the Aldermaston Nomads!

A cold but dry day greeted the Nomads Christmas trial on the 2nd January. Once again the venue was the Pickling Yards, which has changed a little over the last year or so with some forestry work. Reynard put in a lot of effort over the last couple of weeks to provide a good course. It was particularly good to see the first group of sections in an area we haven’t used before.

41 riders braved the cold and enjoyed a good days riding along with hot dogs and gluwine provided by the club during the lunch break. The club raffle (and donations for the refreshments (+ a topup from the club) raised £200 for Englefield estates’ chosen charity.

With the exception of the clay banks by the lake, the sections probably rode easier as the day went on, and the course was cleared quickly at the end of the day.
