Club Championship – Round3 – Christmas trial – Pickling Yards

Monday 2nd Jan 2017 sees our annual Christmas Charity trial at the Pickling Yards in Mortimer. As normal, there will be classes for Adult A, B & C routes, plus youth, Pre-65 and sidecars.

This event is usually the most popular trial of the year, possibly because of the free Mulled wine and hotdogs! We will also be holding a raffle to support the landowner owners chosen charity.

You can find the Pickling Yards at  St Catherines Hill, Mortimer, RG7 3UG. Regs can be found below, or you can enter on the day . Entry is just £10  ( + club membership of £5 if you are not already a member).

The Christmas trial is always a fun ride, so come out and burn off some of those Christmas calories!!!

Club Trials Championship – Round2 -Pickling Yards

With the very heavy rain overnight continuing into Saturday morning it was not surprising that only 17 riders turned up for this trial on our best piece of land. However, Reynard had laid out the sections on Friday with the forecast in mind, so the marks were not astronomic and there was only one retirement. Let’s hope for better conditions for our next charity trial at the same venue on Monday 2nd January 2017

Armistice Sunday treasure hunt walk

The Armistice Sunday treasure hunt walk is an fun event which is run annually by Alton & District MCC & located at a venue chosen by the previous year’s winners.   Last year the treasure hunt was won by Team Haines of the Nomads ( to the surprise of the rest of the Club 🙂 ), hence the start will be in Silchester.

The Walk will start around 11.15 am on Sunday 13th November from the cricket pavilion car park opposite the Calleva Arms, The Common, Little London Road, Silchester, RG7 2PH.It is planned to take 2.5 – 3.5 hours & results announced during an optional lunch in the Calleva Arms afterwards.

The Walk is 95% off road, using footpaths with pedestrian gates. It would be difficult for wheelchairs but ok for pushchairs & disciplined dogs. Alton will run their own member’s competition in parallel with guests.

Please contact Brice Haines by Saturday evening after our trial on the 12th November on 07733017670 if you intend taking part/wish to book a seat in the pub or would like more information.
