The New Musketeers 3 Stage Trial

If you enjoyed the Pathfinder 3 stage, then you should seriously consider the South Reading clubs New Musketeers event. This is the only other 3 stage out there. I rode the inaugural event and had a great day. I strongly recommend you give it a try!

Check out the South Reading website – www.srmcc.co.uk

Its running at Ashdown Farm new Blewbury in Oxfordshire on Saturday 27th July

Ron Walters

It is with great sadness, we have to report the passing of Ron Walters.

Ron has been a regular supporter of the Nomads Club Trials over several years, He won the Clubman Route’ C’ Shield in 2021, 2022 and 2023 scoring a hat-trick.

Sadly, our most recent Trial turned out to be his final ride.

Ron’s funeral will be held at 1pm on Wednesday 26th June at South Oxfordshire Crematorium, Garford, Abingdon, OX13 5PA.

The wake will follow at The Plough at Hanney, Church St, West Hanney, Wantage OX12 0LN. There is no dress code and all are welcome. No flowers please, but if you would like to, please send a donation to Myeloma UK via Ron’s MuchLoved page. As you may know, Ron’s son Darren passed away from this disease last year so it’s a charity close to the family’s hearts. https://ronwalters.muchloved.com/

Aldermaston Nomads MCC and Surrey Trail Riders Fellowship – Pathfinder 3 Stage Trial – RESULTS

Well, that’s the Pathfinder over for another year!

We hope those of you who rode enjoyed the event – I think it went pretty well. In the end we had a full entry, an extended 6.5 mile course and amazing weather. All of that at the superb Bagshot venue was recipe for a great days riding (in my opinion!).

As ever, we tried to make a few tweaks to improve the event – the most significant this year was the introduction of electronic timing for the checks and special tests.

You may not have not noticed, but the timing team (Manny and Paula from TidyTiming) also picked up the manual input of all the section scores ( that’s 4000 scores) as well as the event timing, with draft results published on Sunday night.  I imagine many of you have already seen the results on the Nomads Facebook page, but if not, check www.tidytiming.com  As ever with this event we have been picking up a few anomalies as they come to light.

There were some pretty impressive rides, but overall winner (once again ) was Gus Oblein and the only rider to go clean in the sections.

Thanks to the nearly 40 officials and helpers we had from multiple local clubs . We could not have put this event on without such great support.

See you next year!
