Aldermaston Nomads Club Trials Championship – 2019/20 – Round 2 – Pickling Yards
CTC Rnd2 trial was held at the Pickling Yards Mortimer on Armistice Saturday where 27 riders enjoyed 4 laps of 10 sections in mixed Woodlands. The event began in dry weather but within an hour rain set in, so those who got a move on benefitted as conditions deteriorated.
The two course plotters, Reynard & Dave , had set out in the week prior & produced sections achievable by most, with only 2 minor retirements. The day had started with the landowners gate padlock malfunctioning which caused an hours delay in borrowing a cordless cutter, but thankfully the event progressed in time.
of the riders who anticipated the imminent arrival of rain & got a move on was septuagenarian Reynard Norris who lost only 5 marks on the harder “A” route to win from a much younger Thomas Hawthorne on 7ml & Victoria Payne on 22ml.
Route “B” was close also as David Bathe dug out his Yamaha mono to win by 1 mark from Adrian Steele on 10 & Dave Barrett on 19.
On “C” route, last year’s series winner Jonathan Evans lost just 1 to win from Adam Huckstep 6 & brother Jack on 7.
Pre 65 rider Glen Hutchins on his James however lost 0 marks in his win from Wayne Hutton ,Cub,on6.

Thanks as always the section plotters, Reynard and Dave , and of course the usual suspects from the Nomads who braved the rain to make for a good days riding!
